I'm Burning Up, I'm On Fire!

For the last couple of days I've been wondering why my lips have felt chapped, well more than chapped, actually burning. Although, yes, there was more kissing than usual because Chris was around, I didn't really think that was making things feel so odd...it actually seemed like they were burning a little bit, sort of like the influence of spicy garlic wing sauce.

Spicy garlic wing sauce works on my lips like someone's doing a strange version of lip acupuncture. It's not so pleasant.

Well, this morning I figured it out. Apparently my new toothpaste is bothering my sensitive lips (you know you want to kiss me know, right?). I like the flavor, but apparently it's not good for me. They say that toothpaste freshness is supposed to linger, but this a little ridiculous.

I always wondered why Big Red gum was a little strong for me. Apparently cinnamon isn't a good flavor for me. Funny, I loved French Toast as a kid.

My dentist gave me a sample of this stuff when I was there last month.

There is just something so...wrong about cinnamon flavored toothpaste.

Actually, I had the same problem.

So don't feel bad.

Course, I despise mint-flavored ANYTHING... so I'm sort of SOL when it comes to toothpaste. :P

Citrus?

I know Crest made a new citrus version of that toothpaste... maybe that can help you out. :) Or... there's always the kiddie bubble gum flavors!

Cinnamon oil is very strong stuff when it's at all concentrated. . . .

I loved it at first then I noticed that my gums were getting sensitive and sore. Didn't think anything of it (didnt' make the connection) then after about 4 days of using that damned toothpaste, my gums actually started bleeding!!! My mouth was riddled with *chemical* burns!

I'm not allergic to cinnamon in general but that damn paste and Dentene's new "Fire" gum both have levels of something that are just too damn high for me to handle.

Yeah, I love the taste, but I guess I can't use it. I was noticing some gum problems too! I didn't put that together. I had the same reaction to the Fire gum. I've learned something!

To bad it doesn't cauterize as you brush.

I also have to be careful of those Listerine strips...the mint ones are fine, but the cinnamon one...same reaction as with the toothpaste.

Sensitive lips?

That's not the part I remember being sensitive...

And it's good to see you back from vacation. Hope it was good.

However, I've seen two comments that you've posted and apparently you need IT bad! LOL...

That's never changed. And I don't expect it to!

Grr. You're being naughty... sounds like you need to be spanked!

I love cinnamon... When it's in a roll or French toast, no problem. When it's in something like Big Red or Red Hots my mouth gets all puffy and weird. Yeach.
