Wedding Photos

Now that we've been wed for a week now, it's about time I drop a few wedding photos on you. First are my two favorites:


Chris and I kiss Chris' mom, who was our witness, outside of the county courthouse.


We hold the booklet that the state of California gives to all people applying for a marriage license. I now know I need to take more folic acid when I get pregnant.

And in the ceremony...

The big "I Do!" to do. Held in beautiful conference room B at the Lake County Courthouse.

Funny thing is, we didn't have rings, but the county clerk insisted we have a ring ceremony, so we used my ring back and forth. My ring is much bigger than Chris' finger.


The big smooch! I'm sad that my hair is thinning.


Chris' Uncle Bob wanted us to kiss outside the courthouse where the benches had the county name. Kind of awkward not getting my belly to cover it up!


One more with Mom. Her boa seemed appropriate. It was all very casual.

Well, with the state of California, I'm party B, but he'll always be the bride. Besides, he would look better in a dress. I would likely look like a white Aretha Franklin.

Chris' mom had such a difficult week, we were very happy to give her a distraction from what she had been going to. It really gave her a pick-me-up!

Well, you can still get married in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and "civil unionized" in a few other places. I wouldn't be surprised if Marriage was legal in most of New England before 2015. At least one part of the country gets it. Let us know when the wedding will be!

Ahh, I didn't think about the waiting period, yeah, Chris and I got married the same day, within minutes of getting the license.

The US and states recognize marriages of straight couples married outside the US, so if Marriage Equality comes to pass, Canadian marriages will be recognized, too. New York state and Mass do recognize Canadian weddings.

Yeah, we knew we might not have the chance to do it again, at least not in CA, so we ran with it! It was a great thing to do.
