Lift Up Your Cares

Here's the official announcement...I'm going to the Texas Renaissance Festival on Saturday, November 6th, and I hope that some of you may be able to join me there. I usually make it an all day affair, but people come and go as the day goes on.

(sort of looks like [livejournal.com profile] anglicub doesn't it?)

If you're thinking of going, it's best to order the cheaper tickets online.

My small apartment can bed down one or two people if some one sleeps on the couch, or if someone brings and air mattress, otherwise, I know some people can make a daytrip out of it. If you're interested, just e-mail me, and I'll help on making arrangements and getting you directions, because it really is out in the middle of nowhere. (I know, if you're outside of Texas, this is pretty much lost on you, but thanks for playing anyway). I guess I need to ask Kip if I can borrow the kilt again, if he won't be using it that day.

Otherwise, I didn't get chosen for the jury. We waited and waited. the guy next to me read his Bible (why do I always get seated next to the guys reading their bibles) and he kept talking to me about his daughter and how badly she played volleyball for the christian high school volleyball team. Great.

The Judge came out and told us the the last case, of a docket of 20, just settled, so they didn't need to seat a jury for this week, and we were free to go. Unfortunately it wasn't that quick. He managed to tell this little story that took half an hour and dealt with his grandfather and hogs and a log and something. Completely bizarre.

So we took our leave at about 2:30, and I had time to run errands, and still go back to my parents house. I got back and chatted for a bit, talked to Chris about his time at Bear Bust till the sun went down, and then went and had dinner with my parents before going home. All-in-all, not a bad diversion.
