Off Day
Thanks to last night, I get to stay at home. The valadation testing that started at 1:00 didn't get finished until 10:00 for me. There was a real lack of organization and use of resources for this project. El company decided to bring in mostly management, since we don't get paid overtime (the one big loss about going management). After that, only a few other reps were there. There was inadequite documentation, training and supervision - and we get to do another one of these in January with twice the personell and the official February data conversion is with all of our (remaining) employees. We're going to have a ball!
So the trouble at work kept me from attending the fraternity and sorority's initiation ceremonies. It's fun being in both (the sorority membership is honorary) because you can have twice the ritual in one night, if everything works right. I will have to write more about these groups in the future. If you want more info, look at KKYTBS.org. My chapters are at the University of Houston.
I wanted to go to initiation dinner with the groups. They initiated 9 new members into the fraternity and at least that many in the sorority. The members from Texas Southern University also came. They called me at work and said they were going to the great "Olive Garden" near Reliant Stadium (home of the Texans). The bad thing is that they close at 10:00 and they wouldn't let some of us in. We loitered for a while and then dropped over to Taco Cabana for some fajitas. We got food and were still ready to join the members for some fraternity/sorority singing in the parking lot. The Olive Garden management wasn't to crazy about 40 people singing and loitering in the parking lot.
More later about finishing John's weekend...and why is my iPod's battery dying after one year!
